The Highpower Management System is our SQL-based access control
management software designed for high performance and scalability. It is
authored and maintained by our Connecticut-based engineering department.
The Highpower Management System is available in two Editions called "Standard"
and "Enterprise". The differences between these editions is illustrated
below:

HMS Enterprise is a more powerful evolution of the original HMS
system. HMS Enterprise throws out the limitations imposed by compatibility
with older network types by being redesigned to work exclusively with the Model
8000 POE based door controller over Ethernet based networks. HMS
Enterprise provides the same familiar program interface as HMS with additional
new features and improvements:

Enterprise.
The CD provides a trial version and contains all of the latest patches.
The trial version can be upgraded to a full version later by obtaining a

Highpower Management
System Standard (HMS)
The Highpower Management System is the most sophisticated user
management system available for the Smart Series STA Readers and the new
Highpower
8000 Door Controller. The software allows the management of
cards and card holders, schedules, holidays and door properties through the use
of a Microsoft SQL Server database. Using the information configured in
the database, the software will fully coordinate and transmit information to all
of the readers in the system. The proper schedules, holiday and card
information is transmitted to the appropriate reader automatically. The
package is written with the latest development tools and is specifically
designed to run with Windows XP under the .NET 2.0 framework.
The system also retrieves the log information from
the reader and records this information in the SQL database. Using this
information, the software has a built-in report generating facility which will
allow administrators to generate reports describing system activity.
Reports can be customized based on a particular card holder or door.
All common networks types are supported including RS-232, RS-422
in protocol mode and TCP/IP Addressed Ethernet. Software fully supports
both 7.X and 8.X firmware versions of the Smart series devices. The system
is not limited as to the number of users and cards handled in the system, but
limitations can occur if you fill up all of the memory in the hardware.
Demonstration software can be ordered on CD. The demonstration version of the software allows
you to try out the software, and setup your system, but it will not transmit the
data to the readers. Once your system is setup with the demonstration
software, you can contact Highpower to obtain a license which will unlock the
software for a specific number of doors. Highpower will provide you with
unlock codes via telephone to unlock the software. See the
part number table for the appropriate license part number.
